Scabies is a skin infection that is caused by a certain type of human mite. It is a very contagious condition as the scabies mites tend to burrow under the outer layer of the skin, lay eggs and feed on blood.

The presence of scabies mites produces pimple-like irritations known as the scabies rash, which can be very itchy. The most common areas affected by scabies are the fingers, toes, abdomen, and groin. To prevent the scabies rash from spreading, you should start with scabies home remedies.

The first and most effective scabies home remedy is tea tree oil. This oil is extracted from the Australian plant malaleuca alternifolia. It stops itching and heals your scabies rash. This powerful oil also acts by killing the mites as well as their eggs. You just have to put about 20 drops of pure tea tree oil in warm water. Take a bath in this water. You can also apply the tea tree oil directly on the itchy areas. Do this twice a day for three weeks.

Another home remedy for scabies is neem oil. This is an essential oil used by Indian Ayurveda. It stops the mites from breeding in the skin and also soothes your pain and itching. You just have to put some neem leaf tincture as well as a couple tablespoons of neem oil in your bathwater. Soak in it for 15 minutes. You can follow the treatment up with neem soap and neem lotion, too.

Part of the natural remedies for scabies is preventing reinfestation. You can do this by bleaching all your clothes and sheets. Use hot water that is over 120 degrees Fahrenheit to launder these items. Combs, brushes and hair clips should also be soaked in hot water. Dry clothes, bedding, towels, and any other linen you’ve come in contact with should be included. In your effort of how to get rid of scabies, make sure that you wash your hands, face and feet or take a bath before you sleep.

Other remedies for scabies are:

  • Prescription medication like Dermisil;
  • Leaves of the Gliridia sepium, temple power, or the Tinospora rumphii boerl – You just have to boil the leaves and apply the mixture liberally on the infected parts of your body.

You can also use mango sap soap. These are basically some of the scabies home remedies.

If you are tired of living with scabies, but are not sure which remedies to use, then you’ll be glad to know that Joe Barton published a report on how to treat scabies naturally and fast. In fact, his “Scabies 24-Hour Natural Remedy Report” is probably the only scabies home remedy that helped me.

    I dealt with this problem for about two years and tried everything to get rid of them. MY solution was to use a mixture of 50% tea tree oil and 50% olive oil (as a carrier oil) and spread it head to toe every 12 hours directly on my skin. In addition, I took ivermectin for three days in a row and three days off for two weeks at the same time as the tea tree oil. Doing both treated the ones above and below my skin at the same time. The above information given about cleaning your environment is good advice, as long as the water is hot enough to kill the mites (over 125 degrees). Also studies have found that scabies can hide from topical applications in your nails and nail beds, so clean these areas thoroughly with bleach. Good luck and may God bless to you all.
